Who will deliver the session?
Chapmans Hill School Farm has its own qualified and experienced teacher and farm manager, Becky Lynch. Becky manages the school farm, liaises with visiting schools, looks after the farm animals and creates and delivers farm-based teaching sessions with schools and community groups.
Are the sessions educational?
Yes. As well as the children being able to get ‘hands-on’ with some of the animals, all sessions are linked to both the Foundation Stage areas of learning and KS1 National Curriculum and QCA objectives.
How else will a visit benefit children?
The sessions not only support and enrich the school curriculum, but also offer the children the opportunity to develop socially and emotionally through group work and direct contact with the farm animals. There is achievement for all at Chapmans Hill School Farm.
How long are the sessions?
You can pick either a half day or a whole day visit. Half-day sessions are available all year round and whole-day sessions are available between September and February.
Session times:
Half-day: 10am - 12 noon or 1pm - 3pm - available all year round
